Ulenni Okandlovu 'BAntuspaceship'
Born in the hills raised in in the caves then came to the city, Ulenni Okandlovu hails from Matobo Hills, Matabeleland South of Zimbabwe. He is a multidisciplinary artists whose work focuses more on research, story telling & archiving information, creating & curating spaces as well as community building.
As a musician Ulenni explores Matabeleland traditional styles of music fusing them with a whole lot modern African & global experimental sounds to create hybrid sounds which lean more towards rap & poetry & Afro techno.
He is a co-founder and lead vocalist of Zimbabwe’s afro techno & experimental music band Bantu Spaceship.
The band has performed around a number of local (Zimbabwe) art galleries & art spaces & at Shoko Festival (Zimbabwe) regional they have performed at MTN Bushfire Festival (Eswatini) , On Air (Marseille, France). As well as the founder, curator & creative director of Skeyi&Strobo Fabrik Party which Zimbabwe’s leading art and design event & platform.
