Theresa ng'ambi
Theresa Ng'ambi grew up as a music lover with preferences in traditional music, percussion, jazz, blues and soul. Ng'ambi was raised by a single mother and inspired by nature with influences of folk songs from her grandmother. Following her grandfather's footsteps a kalimba player, she developed interest in singing and writing ethno music at the age of five. Emergent of the tragic events of losing her parents, brother and grandparents at a young age, Theresa decided to write a diary of her life through music.
Theresa is an extensively exposed artist, having featured on British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in 2012 in their entertainment segment "Back to the Roots“- in which some of her singles were broadcast for a week with an intimate interview on BBC Africa.Some of the iconic names she shared stage with include Hugh Masekela, Oliver Mtukudzi, Hope Masike the mbira player, Sampa The Great, Sean Pottock the kora player and collaborated with American Dj Poolboi and many others. She has also worked with Emmanuel Jagari Chanda and his Zamrock band WITCH on their 2023 album “Zango“, including touring with them on the US West Coast Tour (2023).
