The Venusian Siren
Lunale Chiyota, who goes by the name The Venusian Siren is an upcoming multi-disciplinary artist. Lunale loves to indulge in different mediums of art and her artistic expressions manifest in form of her love to sing, her love to paint, her love of playing with clay (sculpting), visual art, and her aspiring fashion designing and DJing respectively. All of the above have been a result of her experimenting her limits as a creative.
She recently had an opportunity to kick-start her DJ career when she attended the 2023 Rackless Kazi DJ residency at Modzi Arts in Lusaka Zambia; where she learnt about mixology, preparing for a set (making a playlist, analyzing music), social media tips for Djs, using effects, amongst other things. Her time there greatly equipped her with knowledge and skills of how to mainstream as a female DJ. The residency field her long standing desire to be an impactful artist through her unique sound ideas.
Since the residency, Lunale has gone to play at #SocialI- one of Lusaka’s most trendy chill spots, along with other DJs she met during the program. Her confidence to play before a crowd has greatly increased. Lunale’s next step is to learn how to make beats and just play with sound more dynamically as she aspires to become a producer DJ.
