RACKLESS KAZI DJ air
The Rackless Kazi DJ Residency is a platform for female DJs aged between 18-40 built through a 7-day interactive residency in Lusaka with the amazing DJ mentors.
It is structured around breaking the yokes of traditional values and beliefs by promoting the position of young women in the electronic music industry through bookings and artist management.
Rackless Kazi DJ Residency is a project of Rackless Abutu in partnership with The Sound Connects Fund (SCF) is a multifaceted initiative that aims to accelerate development and increase the capacity of the cultural and creative sectors in Southern Africa. The fund is made possible with funding from the ACP-EU Culture programme, a project implemented by the Organisation of the African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and funded by the European Union (EU).
Rackless Abutu is a multi-discipline program focused on Artists, Artist Managers, Booking Agents and Gallery Managers aiming to ensure that the current generation of Zambian and Southern African artists and art practitioners in the industry continue thriving in their creative business. We welcome participants from Zambia, Congo DRC, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
Mentors will impart their knowledge, networks and performance with emerging to mid-career DJ’s from across Southern Africa through industry Master classes on artistic and technical sharing.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
-Applicants can be emerging or mid-career creatives within the music sector
-Region: Congo DR | Botswana | Malawi | Namibia | South Africa | Tanzania | Zambia | Zimbabwe
-Must be between 18 - 40 years of age
-Be currently working in the electronic music industry or have experience working in the electronic music industry.
