Lazarous Chewe aka Hollaman is a professional traditional percussionist based in Zambia. He blends his style of drumming with bosana and reggae. Hollaman has played for almost every Zambian musician worth the title of Zambian musician. The 54 year old Hollaman is also a song writer and has released about four singles.
He conducts lessons for traditional drumming learners from different schools and churches such as the catholic. A key lesson he provides is how to play “Funkutu” traditional drumming, a cardinal drum pattern for catholic songs. Currently Hollaman is part of the Bantu Roots Band where he plays the percussion and coordinates the band’s activities.
