Alick Mbewe SOKOSOLO
Alick Mbewe, also well known as SOKOSOLO, comes from a musical blood line and grow up in the era of heavy metal rock music. Sokosolo became a lead guitarist in 1987 for Bantu Roots band as one of its founding members. Paul Ngozi, Rikki Ililonga, Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana all influenced Sokosolo's technique and style of guitar playing.
In 1991, Sokosolo curtain raised for an afro saxophonist maestro legend of the time from Cameroon (Manu Dibango) at Mulungushi conference centre, with Shakarongo musical band. His special appearances include his feature on Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation's Folk music show presented by Mr. Joze.
Sokosolo is now one of the only two surviving members of the Bantu Roots band. He also leads a group called Crescendoz Band, which has produced an album entitled 'Mothers'., and also made captivating live performances at Jah Night Show, Mathew Tembo's show and Mumba Yachi's show at alliance Francaise Lusaka.
